My workaholic mother is such a workaholic that she eats at her work desk. That means that her work desk can get a little messy, so she asked me to get her a mat that is pretty enough that we can use at the dining table when we have guests as well when she eats at her work desk.When I was shopping around, there were multiple options but these ones had the pocket. I figured she could carry utensils in the pocket with the mat to her room, have her meal, and throw it in the laundry, and be done. So far, that is exactly what has been happening. I have used these with guests myself and I can say these are good mats, the guests also liked them, said they were nice. I am glad I got them.

I like to entertain very now and then. My friends do like to call me names because despite the food I cook, I always forget details like napkins and placemats! When I saw these I thought they looked great.I really like the design and the fact that you can tuck the cutlery neatly into the right side pocket. The color is great, very muted and ties in nicely in my dining space. The quality is also pretty good with no bad stitching. I have yet to use these as intended but think they will be great.

You may notice some minor shrinkage after the first wash — this is normal for cotton.
